ER's Notes
Summer is winding down, kids are back in school, and the temps are finally cooling. Your officers and district chairmen attended a DD clinic (District Deputy to Grand Lodge). We met with other Lodges from the Northwest District, in Ames, for a day of education. We discussed how other Lodges deal with membership, Elks National Foundation fundraising, and public relations. These subjects seem to be difficult areas for most Lodges to deal with, if you have expertise or ideas please feel free to contact any officer. The Elks #112 purchased 1200 dictionaries to be donated to area 3rd graders in the next month or so. This number usually increases to over 1400 by the time we are done. You can read more about the BPOE involvement with “ The Dictionary Project “ on the Elks national website. This is one of the projects your dues help fund. We know times are tough, but please try to keep your dues up to date. Requests for donations are higher than ever and we need your continued support. Remember Elks Care, Elks Share.

Ladies Corner
Where did the summer go? Last minute vacations, purchasing school supplies and looking at fall clothes in the stores—all signs that summer is coming to an end. Bring the family down to Family Fun Day for games, inflatables, food and visiting. Look for flyers or emails coming your way on committees for other kids’ party planning. Several ladies, along with the officers’ wives, are helping me out. So say, “Sure! I’ll help.” when they call or visit with you. Whether you are a crafter, a baker, or a party planner, your talents are welcomed. Halloween party and Christmas party all need some helpers. Enjoy the Dog Days of Summer.
